Margarita Brum

You-Jin Chang

„I think peace is never an individual state; it always gains its meaning as a shared feeling. In relation to this work, peace is connected with inhabiting a comfortable space — a refuge where one feels safe, but not alone, rather within my community.“

Margarita Brum trained as a photographer and audiovisual producer, and has also taken courses in screen printing, stamping, and textile art. Currently, her work explores the intersections between textile art and collage, using embroidery, photography, paper, acrylic paint, and ink, among other materials. Her work has been exhibited both in Uruguay and abroad, where she has participated in solo and group exhibitions. Her work has illustrated books, album, and magazine covers in Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, Portugal, Hungary, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and China.
