“If a miracle happened tonight and there were peace in the morning, I think it would feel quiet. Not triumphant, not loud, but gentle. The photograph I chose shows an elderly woman, carrying a lifetime in her face. For me, she represents a calm that comes after storms. She has nothing to prove, nothing to fight. In a world at peace, I imagine more faces like hers, calm, empathetic, with a deep understanding of others. Peace would not erase the past, but it would change the way we relate to one another, with more humanity and closeness.”
