Cécile Barma

“Peace, for me, is an inner balance, a personal refuge that, as long as one continues to seek it, will always be present. A sense of verticality, of alignment, of grounding.

An alignment from which it becomes possible to remain present in the world, without distraction or absence.

A place from which one can respond immediately and appropriately to life as it unfolds.

A suspension of time, a still moment filled with silent strength.

A space where answers become accessible, and where fragments reconnect.

It is a silent, structuring order, a refuge filled with light and hope that becomes our constant direction.

In my paintings, peace takes the form of interior spaces of safety, like refuges where light guides us, and open doorways lead us toward infinite possibilities.“

Born in Paris, Cécile Barma first trained as a fashion designer and worked in the fashion world for nearly twenty years. In 2005, she discovered Buddhism, a decisive encounter that profoundly transformed her relationship to the world and to herself, initiating an essential inner shift in her path. Two years later, she chose to devote herself entirely to painting and drawing, rooting her practice in a quest for interiority and presence.
