Claudia Ebbing
Claudia Ebbing searches and finds connections and points of contact between the past and present in natural space. The spiritual level of human and nature represents a fine point of contact here. She prefers to paint landscapes that appear Asian, meditative, sublime and sometimes romantic, as well as landscapes that are at peace with themselves and their aesthetics.
“Simply live”: For me, nature is peace and essential to my being. The focus is on the close-up view. The network of mosses, lichens and amoeba-like structures forms the basis of the picture space, which opens up from the natural model into its own imaginative and melancholic worlds through multi-layered overlays. The shape of the circle resulted from the sketch of a tree stump that was covered in mosses: I associate it with harmony, security and unity in reference to the world. Its opening symbolizes the fragility of the interweaving of human kind and nature, human and human. The child runs into the world and into life, packed with all hopes of trust and protection – accompanied by two other figurative representations in a circle.
