On the left: Two styrofoam shavings in the dustpan cried out to me. Wait! Don’t throw us out! I placed them upright facing each other in dialogue. They are so happy to have found each other. To talk. Just to talk about the weather or the price of tomatoes off season or even peace. Two diplomats sick of war. Face to face eager at last, to talk peace!
On the right: Patches of snow on the embankment reflect their transparent image in the dazzling clarity of Crater Lake in Oregon. If you turn the horizontal photo upright vertically the reflected pair become hands in prayer. Earth and Water face each other in dialog with Sanctity above. About saving the earth from war. The shift in angle of view makes possible the dialog.
About the work: Both works are the result of chance bringing me to a quote whose author is unknown to me: “Chance is an unknown language, the meeting of random events and clairvoyant design.”
