“If a miracle happened tonight and I woke up tomorrow in a world at peace, children would no longer be afraid — neither of war nor of one another. The new generation would open the path before us and show us the way. Instead of inheriting our fears, divisions, and hatred, they would remind us how to look at the world with trust, curiosity, and openness. My collage represents this idea through children walking together along a clear path. They are not only moving towards peace; they are guiding us towards it. In this peaceful world, growing up would no longer mean losing the purity of childhood. We would preserve that part of ourselves that does not instinctively divide, reject, or hate. Fear and hatred could gradually be erased, allowing us to meet one another without prejudice. For me, peace would begin there: by following the path opened by children and learning, once again, to see others without fear.”
Mary Molina is a French mixed-media artist living and working in the Marseille area and in Paris. Her practice combines analogue collage, vintage photographs, old book pages, found papers, ink, thread, and other delicate or time‑worn materials. Her poetic, pared‑back compositions are often infused with nostalgia. She explores memory, childhood, transmission, women’s experiences, and the traces left by the past. By assembling fragments from different places and periods, she creates imagined memories suspended between what once existed and what might have been.
