Michael Zöphel, a versatile artist at the interface of design, photography and experimental light painting, creates works that not only touch the eye but also move the soul. In his unique light painting series, he transforms darkness into magical scenes – a process that requires precision, imagination and patience.
From concept to creation – a path full of passion: Light painting is an art form in which every brushstroke of light has to be choreographed in advance. You literally paint in the dark. Every movement has to be planned in your head before it becomes visible through the light. Only a look at the camera display reveals whether vision and reality match – a game of experimentation, dedication and surprise. From the original 40 photographs, I have made a selection of eight outstanding images that now form the heart of createPeace initiative. And the image shown here is the final one.
“Infinite Worlds” – a bridge between art and humanity: The Infinite Worlds series takes up a universal narrative: the longing for peace and the question of how we can create it together. My works are more than aesthetic experiments – they are calls for sensitivity. Creativity is a tool to awaken empathy and initiate dialogues. With my light-flooded compositions, I invite viewers to become designers of a more peaceful world themselves. In a time of division, I show how art can connect. My works are not just pictures, but experiences that stimulate thought and inspire action. Each light painting is a symbol of the fact that even in the dark – there is room for hope and new beginnings.
